A baby sock, 2 marbles and 4 screws give Paully a set of 'nads-to be followed by more equipment soon. Also shown are the legs covered in glass cloth awaiting resin.

A little diversion at our second tape casting session. Serrafine and Cathy got covered to make sewing mannikens. I got myself cast in a sitting pose-hands on keyboard and mouse. Will used this as a alter-ego when I leave for burning man in a little over a month now.

Like the husk left when an insect moults, I hold a mere shell of myself.

Testing putting paully's halves together. The waist will need some work.

I extended the armature in the arm to extend down into the leg section. When the halves are in final position, I poured plaster into one leg to anchor the armature.

The gray areas are places I added clay to get the right shape. I slit through the tape to make a more pronounced spine. Sticky tape holds the new patches in place to later be covered in glass cloth.

Rather than trying to cover the hand with cloth, I asked neighbor Cindy for a small glove. I stripped off all the tape on the fingers (I had Worm wrap the fingers seperately on this hand with scotch tape when we cast Paully) leaving only the flexible foam and carefully pulled the golve on. I later soaked the whole hand by dipping it in a continer of resin.

The head is gonna need a lot of work.

An eye adds a spooky look to the face.
A lot happened between this and the next photo. I stripped off all the tape and saran wrap on the head, filed off the bad spots and completely recovered the whole head in clay. It no longer looks that much like Paully, but it is definitely human. This is my first real attempt to scupt a face. The toughest parts were ears and lips.

Covering the face with some super fine glass cloth that I bought years ago but never used. The stuff is like fine silk.
